Up for auction is a $5 1854 Philadelphia Pennsylvania Obsolete Bank Note. This note is dated April 5, 1854. This note was issued by the Farmers & Mechanics Bank of Philadelphia. This is a spurious issue because the Farmers & Mechanics Bank of Philadelphia never actually existed. These notes were meant to be mistaken for the Farmers & Mechanics Bank (not of Philadelphia). This is a tough to find counterfeit issue. This bill is a must have for any collector of Obsolete Currency!
